That's understandable caution and it's definitely good to keep the
existing eggs working until the dust settles (and probably a after as well).

We could do the new development under the GitHub organization and if you
like some of the results you can pull code into the repos on your
personal server.

Would someone want to volunteer as the de facto lead / organizer of this
project? Progress will be very slow if I take on that role since I
already have so many things on my plate. Besides, I'm not a web guru.
