Thanks, too, for urging us to be clear about goals and motivations, how the "community" is organized, etc.  You're absolutely right that those are super important.  SRFI, for which I am currently the editor, has benefited greatly from such clarity and transparency over its history, and I'm sure that that is part of the reason that it is still around after more than twenty years.  I'm hoping that we can create something even broader than SRFI to help knit the Scheme community together, even if only loosely.  We'll definitely take your advice to heart.

Is it okay for us to republish material from the Scheme Cookbook that does turn out to be more generally useful, perhaps after some editing?
