I did not see any mentions of guile-dbi.

After my last message on non-Scheme database interfaces, I started searching for Scheme ones, which I've not finished. guile-dbi along with Gauche's is currently maintained, but the license is unfortunately GPL, not even LGPL, and thus not suitable: https://github.com/opencog/guile-dbi/blob/master/guile-dbi/COPYING I'm not even looking at its code.

As for the others so far:

bzlib/dbi.plt is LGPL, modeled on Perl's DBI/DBD architecture, appears to be long abandoned: http://weblambda.blogspot.com/2009/09/extensible-abstract-database-interace.html.
