I've just published draft #2 of SRFI 181. It was submitted by John Cowan, author of the SRFI.
https://srfi.schemers.org/srfi-181/
Here are John's comments on the draft:
- Adds binary and textual input/output ports.
- Allows implementations of textual ports to pass either strings or vectors of characters to the read! and write! procedures.
- Removes the nonsense about what write! should do if given a count of 0.
- Removes redundant explanations of arguments shared between the procedures.
- Editorial improvements, including removing some remaining R6RS cruft.
Here is the commit summary:
- Switch to ISO dates.
- Write authors consistently. Write <based-on>.
- Apply changes from John Cowan.
- Remove empty <p> elements.
- Publish second draft.
