To be fair Will, this ISO standard does seem somewhat perplexing; at least I'm struggling to understanding it myself.

I actually arrived here whilst trying to implement the weeknum function for biwascheme ( https://github.com/biwascheme/biwascheme ).

John, Will - would it be acceptable for me to submit one or more PR's to the Github repository for this srfi or is there another/preferred mechanism of accepting contributions?

I have no recollection why I tried to support _all_ of these directives, but John’s probably right that it’s probably a messy attempt to follow `strtime`, and got it wrong.

I don’t know if it’s just a documentation bug or an implementation bug, or both, and I won’t be able to repair the code or documentation.
