I would like to point out that Felix Winkelmann has kindly made available
integrated support for SRFI-72 macros as a language extension (egg) for the
Chicken Scheme compiler.

It is available as the 'simple-macros' egg at
http://www.call-with-current-continuation.org/eggs/index.html#lang-exts

Caveat: This extension has been tested on small examples but not yet on
nontrivial real-world applications.
