Here is John's summary of the reasons for withdrawal:

This SRFI was withdrawn by the editor because there had been no progress since 11-2023, when the first draft was published, and because he hadn't been able to reach the author, John Cowan, since 5-2024. Daphne Preston-Kendal, author of the sample implementation, has recommended withdrawal, but said that she would be happy to cooperate, as time allows, with a new author on a fork of this SRFI. Volunteers welcome!
