I hereby pledge that we will not make the process significantly more difficult.  I'm willing to make it slightly more work for the editor, and to offer authors the opportunity to add metadata if they like, but I don't want to do anything to make it less likely that you or any other potential author will contribute.

It is okay, on the other hand, if the editor or other volunteers have to do some work after finalization, without help from the author, to aid in collecting metadata for indexes, etc.
