i actually just ran s/irc.freenode.net/irc.libera.chat/g s/chat.freenode.net/irc.libera.chat/g s/freenode/libera/ ... to my irssi config, and everything worked splendorously.

that said, as i stated on #chicken, i think it's generally a bad idea to switch providers in the middle of a dramafest with neither side being exactly reliable or provably honest. it's a little too late now, but in the future, if there's this kind of nonsense, i would rather wait for the drama to die down and the dust to settle before making community-wide decisions in the heat of the moment.
