That's a good plan. First, let's refine the look of the home page and
other administrative pages ("admin.css") until people are in general
agreement that the dark mode version looks good.

Also, in belated reply to Artyom's comments in the original pull
request, I'd be happy if you refactored the CSS to use variables.
