One more note about that: Racket uses "keep-live" in its
implementation of ephemerons for exactly the same purpose as
"reference-barrier" is in this SRFI. It is a wrong belief that the
purpose of "keep-live" is only related to the "immobile objects"
feature. (Many of the recent additions to the Chez Scheme programming
language have their origins in the demands of Racket CS, so CS code
used by Racket matters.)
