Wow, that site is amazingly thorough. I had no idea the strings are that
uniform. That's good news for us.

Given that alists and plists, as well as symbols and strings, are
perfectly round-trippable, I don't have much of an opinion on which
flavor to choose.

Alist with string keys is fine. I'll change the nascent IPC protocol's
`connect` command to take a single alist argument as well.
