All we *need* > are lambdas Unlambda is Turing complete :) <http://www.madore.org/~david/programs/unlambda/> IMHO a good sign that a feature is needed, is when we start regularly making workarounds for it and debating which workaround has the fewest drawbacks. (TBH, optional static type checking is uncomfortably close to being this kind of omission in Scheme :)
