Very good point. We should take this into consideration. If we get Scheme.org launched as planned, including the paperwork, then it has a better chance at longevity than almost any personal domain. Several Scheme implementations' current websites are hosted at places GNU.org which are likely to last at least as long as a well-run Scheme.org. But those projects are usually affiliated with a larger organization like GNU. > That's the power of GitHub pages it's GitHub is owned by Microsoft that will > most likely last even after 100 years if people will still be on earth then. Two of the most popular webhosts ever, GeoCities.com and AngelFire.com no longer exist in their original form. Some people have made projects to archive a large fraction of the sites that were hosted there, but it shows that the original URLs are unlikely work forever and even the sites may be lost. We should assume that programmer sites like Github.com, Gitlab.com and SourceForge.net have a similar fate eventually. web.archive.org tries to archive a large part of the web; it may be the safest bet to have Scheme implementations' sites archived there.
