Thanks again for the comments.

We already have lots of Scheme forums that are more informal:

- Reddit, comp.lang.scheme, mailing lists, IRC

- Racket Slack and mailing list

- The Planet Scheme blog aggregator

- The Scheme Cookbook

- Every Scheme GitHub project, including https://github.com/pre-srfi

- Most Scheme package managers (Snow, Akku, ...)

If Scheme Review was more informal, how would it differ from what we
already have?

It sounds like you're looking for https://github.com/pre-srfi

(That organization exists to write documents that are hoped to become
SRFIs, but nobody actually enforces that constraint.)

I'd like to preserve the quality of comments we get on the SRFI lists.
I'm not sure if making it as easy as Reddit is the best way to achieve
that. A small barrier to entry may be desirable.

I've tried hard to stay off Reddit for several reasons, but I'll
consider it.

RE: commercial platform, git hosting is completely dominated by GitHub.
Even GitLab.com has almost no "social life" - the repos have almost no
stars compared to GitHub.

I'd rather have a quality group than a large group, but it's true that a
balance has to be struck.
