It's a general sentiment by many that SRFI is not addressing the acute
needs of schemers. "Alienation" taken literally is probably stronger
than anyone feels. RnRS causes stronger feelings since it's hard to ignore.

IMHO the problem is not with SRFI, but with the lack of alternatives.
SRFI is a victim of its own success: work flocks to it since it's the
only successful institution in the neighborhood. That's not SRFI's
fault. No one institution can give people everything they need.

We should streamline our existing institutions and start new ones to
pick up the slack.
